We had about 4 inches of snow this past week, however it was too frigid to go out and enjoy it {high of 14!!!} Unfortunately the day it was warm enough to go outside, it was 34 and the snow was already melting. We invited Ava over to sled for a little bit before all of the "big kids" came home from school. Roman ditched his boring ho-hum red saucer sled in lieu of Ava and her brother Jack's sporty-looking racing sled. They sledded/slid {what is the past tense of sled?} down the traditional way on the bottoms and/or bellies only about 2 times until they discovered, by accident, that if you stand on the sled, you get some pretty "awesome" {as they put it} results. At first, they would instantly fall off and roll around and giggle in the snow and soon enough, they could stay on most of the way down the hill.
I think Roman is going to skip traditional sledding and skiing and go straight to snowboarding. At least he looks the part in those pants!

OH MY---what a natural at snow-boarding. I'm still laughing at him telling me to "look out the window" when I told him we didn't have any snow. ..
